ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POST OF VICE CHANCELLOR
The Government of Sindh, Universities & Boards Department invites applications from outstanding academics, distinguished medical professionals, and highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated educational leaders for the position of Vice Chancellor, Peoples University of Medical & Health Sciences for Women (PUMHSW), Shaheed Benazirabad.
Eligibility Criteria:
The Vice Chancellor of the University shall be appointed for a period of four years and may be extended for one term of four years as may be determined by the Chief Minister, in accordance with the recommendations of the Search Committee, and shall possess the following academic, professional experience and age:
(I) An outstanding academician and renowned medical professional/researcher having served as Professor for at least 20 years in a recognized University or Postgraduate Institution recognized by PM&DC/PMC, with a minimum of 900 research publications (excluding abstracts) in recognized peer-reviewed journals, or equivalent.
(II) Possess a Master's degree (or equivalent) recognized by HEC/PMC/PM&DC, with at least 10 years of experience in academic, financial, and educational leadership at a recognized national or international institution in a position equivalent to BPS-17 to BPS-19 or above, or equivalent.
(III) Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree from a recognized university in any discipline, with at least 15 years of experience in academic, administrative, and intellectual leadership roles in a university or civil society organization, and possessing prominent qualities as a visionary and intellectual leader (recognized by HEC).
(IV) Not less than 10 years of experience as a Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, or equivalent position in a recognized University.
(V) The candidate should not be more than 65 years of age on the last date of application for the post of Vice Chancellor.
(VI) Candidates applying on the basis of their experience in civil services must have retired from a position not less than BPS-20 or equivalent.
Duties of the Vice Chancellor:
- Promotion of quality education
- Promotion of research and innovation
- Establishment of national and international linkages with industrial and research organizations
- Sustainable planning and development of the University
- Collection of funds from industrial sectors for research and development activities and their utilization for policy implementation.
Job Skills:
Candidates must possess strong leadership, managerial, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, along with a track record of exceptional performance, integrity, and dedication.

- Must be well-versed in financial and administrative matters.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the interviews.
