Pakistan Television Corporation Limited (PTVC) is the pioneer and largest Television Network in the country. Being a terrestrial, cable and satellite channel, it is uniquely positioned in the media industry. We require services of highly motivated and experienced professional on a contract basis, initially for a period of one (01) year, which may be extended based on satisfactory performance.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As part of the Executive Management team, the Executive Editor PTV World will interact with various members of the organization, both senior and junior. He/She will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic direction to the PTV World.
- Overseeing day-to-day operations of the channel.
- Ensuring PTV World employees function productively and develop professionally.
- Planning, developing and evaluating content/programming strategy, aligned with Pakistan's ideology, culture and government policies.
- As the head, he/she must ensure that his/her teams continue to collaborate effectively across other PTV channels.
- Executing policy decisions formulated by the management.
- Functioning as the liaison between management and the editorial staff.
- Deploying resources enabling the channel to share content.
- Overseeing content direction and devising new strategies to increase viewership.
- Creating a fresh look and feel for the channel and providing new programming ideas.
- Overseeing all news situations, special transmissions and special events.
- Overseeing channel content on PTV social media feeds and website.
- Ensuring, through the editors, compliance with all output.
- Ensuring that the department stays abreast of changes in audience behavior and implements digital strategies to benefit the audiences.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
Qualification: Master's Degree in the relevant discipline. Foreign qualified candidates would be given preference. Educational documents must be verified by HEC before joining of successful candidates.

Experience/Skills: At least 15 years of working experience with top news channels. Prior experience in a senior role is strongly preferred. International experience in television or media markets will be an added advantage. Demonstrable passion for creating content and broadcasting to the appropriate audience, and knowledge of subjects which inform, educate & entertain the audience. Excellent writing skills and experience in writing & pitching proposals tailored to specific audience needs. Sound understanding of the media industry and how it is developing with new technologies and platforms. Strong experience in influencing, negotiating and communicating effectively, both internally and with external agencies/partners.
Age limit: Minimum 50 years as of the closing date of advertisement, which may be relaxed based on experience.
