Situation Vacant
1. Deputy Manager / Deputy Director Taxation (01 Post)
- Purpose: Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) provides civic services to the metropolitan city of Karachi. This position is responsible for ensuring clean and safe drinking water alongside managing wastewater disposal under the KW&SC Act 2023. The Deputy Manager/Deputy Director Taxation will lead, supervise, and organize all taxation-related operations, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks, formulating policies, and enhancing the corporation's tax collection capacity.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise legal assessments, revenue collection, billing, and all taxation activities.
- Formulate policies and strategies to minimize water loss and increase tax revenue.
- Prepare periodic reports and perform financial analysis for the senior management.
- Assist in tax policy formulation, legal amendments, and representing the department in legal forums.
- Maintain up-to-date tax databases, assess arrears, and guide assistant managers.
- Handle public complaints regarding taxes, billing disputes, and reassessments.
- Qualifications & Skills:
- Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or related fields. Professional certifications like CA/ACCA/ICMA/LLB (Taxation) will be highly preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in taxation, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Thorough knowledge of public finance management (PFM) and relevant tax laws.
- Strong communication, leadership, and public relations skills.
2. Assistant Manager / Assistant Director Taxation (02 Posts)
- Purpose: To assist the Deputy Manager/Deputy Director Taxation in running day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with rules, and managing billing and revenue records.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Draft tax demands, notices, bills, and assist in revenue recovery.
- Maintain accurate tax records, files, and consumer databases.
- Address consumer complaints regarding incorrect billing, water connections, and tax adjustments.
- Audit tax assessments and identify potential tax evasion or theft.
- Submit routine reports to the Deputy Manager and support audit teams.
- Qualifications & Skills:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree (16 years of education) in Commerce, Economics, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in taxation or accounting.
- Good command over Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic computer operations.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial records.

- Contract Period: Appointments will be made on a 3-year contract basis, extendable based on performance.
