Position
How to Apply?
- Bachelors in geotechnical engineering or civil engineering (MSc will be a plus) 3-6 years' of relevant experience.
- Must have some design experience (civil and/or geotechnical and/or mining)
- Oversee property slope stability functions for pits, stockpiles, waste rock facilities and tailings facilities.
- Manage and coordinate with consultants, water management, structural geology, slope stability designs, mine planning, and civil designs. Communicate relevant slope stability information and concerns to site management in a timely, concise, and accurate manner. Manage, document, and communicate slope stability monitoring of relevant infrastructure.
- Actively seek improvements to safeguard people, equipment and mineral resources through monitoring programs, designs, blasting, data acquisition and analysis to deliver on study programs and production.
- Develop, maintain, and integrate geotechnical models into the mine plans to ensure optimal mineral exploitation. Work on complex problems and implement solutions through multi-disciplinary teams. Track and update quarterly and annual budgets.
- Assist with long-term budget inputs. Supervise contractors, junior engineers and technicians in field work and data collection. Perform 2D and 3D Finite Element Modelling (Desvik, Leapfrog, Slope/w, Plaxis etc.).
- Assist in report preparations and competent in using MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Perform other duties as required.
